Focused software.
Clear purpose.
Haruki Labs is a software studio incorporated in North Carolina. We build native apps for Mac and iOS — focused tools for people who want to accomplish meaningful things without fighting their software to do it.
The studio exists because most productivity software is either too generic to be useful or too opinionated in the wrong ways. We think the right constraint, applied thoughtfully, is worth more than a hundred features.
Our apps are built with Swift and SwiftUI. They use Apple's frameworks, Apple's sync infrastructure, and Apple's distribution model. We don't operate our own servers, collect your data, or require accounts. The apps work the way the platform works.
Less, but better.
Every feature in a Haruki Labs app was a deliberate decision. Nothing was added because it was easy to build, or because another app had it, or because a user asked once. A feature earns its place by making the app meaningfully better at its core purpose.
Meridian's five-goal limit is the clearest example of this. It would be trivial to allow ten goals, or twenty, or unlimited. We allow five because five is where focus lives. The constraint isn't a limitation — it's the product.
This extends to privacy. Our apps don't have analytics dashboards, because we don't run analytics. They don't show ads, because we don't take ad money. They don't require accounts, because your data shouldn't need to leave your device to be useful.
We earn revenue through direct subscriptions and one-time purchases. You pay for the software. The software works for you. That's the deal.

SMART goal tracker with a five-goal limit. Milestones, weekly reviews, and iCloud sync. The constraint is the feature.
Spaced-repetition flashcard app. Study anything — languages, concepts, facts — at scientifically optimal intervals for long-term retention.
