Privacy Policy

Haruki Labs LLC ("Haruki Labs," "we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy. This policy explains what information we handle when you visit harukilabs.com (the "Website") or use our applications (the "Apps"), and what rights you have over that information. We are based in North Carolina, United States.

Information we collect

Website

We use a privacy-focused analytics service to understand how the Website is used. The service does not use cookies, does not collect personal data, and does not track you across websites or devices. We see only aggregate, anonymized statistics — page views, referrers, country (derived from IP address but not stored), and broad device type. IP addresses are processed in memory to generate an anonymous session identifier and are then discarded.

The Website does not use cookies or local storage for tracking. We do not run advertising, retargeting, or third-party trackers.

Apps

Our Apps are designed to keep your data on your device:

• Local storage. Your content is stored on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework.
• iCloud sync (optional). If you enable it, your data syncs across your devices through Apple's iCloud and CloudKit. Apple holds this data in your private iCloud account; we cannot access it. Apple's privacy practices apply (apple.com/legal/privacy).
• No accounts. Our Apps do not require you to create an account with Haruki Labs.
• No third-party analytics or telemetry. Our Apps include no third-party analytics, telemetry, or crash-reporting SDKs.
• Apple crash reports. When you have opted in to share diagnostics with app developers in your device's privacy settings, Apple may provide us with anonymized crash reports through App Store Connect. These reports do not identify you.
• No advertising. Our Apps contain no advertising and no third-party advertising SDKs.

AI features

Some Apps may include optional features that use Anthropic's Claude AI service to provide enhanced functionality. When you invoke such a feature, the content you submit (for example, text you ask the App to analyze) is sent to Anthropic for processing, and a response is returned to your device. Per Anthropic's API policies, content sent through the API is not used to train their models. We do not retain copies of the content you submit through these features. How we use information

We use the limited information described above only to:

• Operate and improve the Website and Apps
• Respond to your support and feedback inquiries
• Comply with legal obligations

We do not sell or rent personal information.

Third parties

We rely on a small number of third-party services:

Children's privacy

Our Website and Apps are not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 in the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at privacy@harukilabs.com and we will delete it.

Your rights

European Economic Area and United Kingdom (GDPR / UK GDPR)

If you are in the EEA or the UK, you have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction or deletion of your personal data
• Object to or restrict our processing
• Request data portability
• Lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority

Because the Website does not collect personal data, and the Apps do not transmit personal data to us, in most cases we hold no personal information about you. Where we do (for example, support email you have sent us), you can exercise these rights by contacting privacy@harukilabs.com. Our legal basis for the limited processing we perform is our legitimate interest in operating and improving our products, and your consent where applicable.

California (CCPA / CPRA)

California residents have the right to:

• Know what personal information we collect
• Request deletion of personal information
• Opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information — we do not sell or share personal information
• Non-discrimination for exercising these rights

Data retention

We retain personal information only as long as necessary for the purposes described in this policy or as required by law. Support correspondence is retained as long as needed to assist you and meet our legal obligations, and is deleted thereafter.

International data transfers

Haruki Labs is based in the United States. If you access the Website or Apps from outside the United States, you understand that information may be processed in the United States and other countries in which our service providers operate. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses) for international transfers.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect any personal information we handle. No system is perfectly secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Posting an updated policy on this page, with a revised effective date above, constitutes notice of the change. Your continued use of the Website or Apps after the effective date of an update means you accept the revised policy.
