What is Meridian?

Meridian is a SMART goal tracker for Mac and iOS. It helps you define, track, and complete meaningful goals using the SMART framework — Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-bound. Each goal has milestones you check off along the way, and there's a built-in weekly review to keep you honest about progress.

Why can I only have five active goals?

The five-goal limit is intentional — it's the central design decision, not a technical restriction. Having too many active goals dilutes your attention and reduces the likelihood of completing any of them. Five forces you to decide what actually matters right now. When you complete or archive a goal, a slot opens for something new. If everything is a priority, nothing is.

What's the difference between the free tier and Meridian+?

The free tier lets you track up to two active goals stored locally on your device — it's a permanent experience, not a time-limited trial. Meridian+ (the paid subscription) raises the active goal limit to five, enables iCloud sync across your Mac and iPhone, unlocks the weekly review feature, and lets you customise notification schedules. You upgrade from within the app at any time.

Does Meridian sync between my Mac and iPhone?

Yes, with a Meridian+ subscription. Your goals, milestones, and reviews sync automatically through iCloud. The sync uses Apple's CloudKit infrastructure — it lives in your private iCloud account, not our servers. The free tier stores data locally on each device only.

Is my data private?

Yes. Meridian does not require an account with Haruki Labs. Your goal data lives on your device and, if you subscribe, in your private iCloud account. Haruki Labs cannot access your iCloud data. There are no third-party analytics SDKs in the app. See our privacy policy for full details.

What happens to my goals if I cancel my subscription?

If you cancel Meridian+, you return to the free tier. Your existing goals remain on your device — nothing is deleted. You just won't be able to have more than two active goals at once, and iCloud sync will stop. You can re-subscribe at any time and sync will resume.

What are milestones?

Milestones are the steps that make up a goal. Each milestone has a title, an optional due date, and a checkbox. You check milestones off as you complete them, and Meridian shows you a progress bar on each goal based on how many milestones are done. You can drag to reorder milestones within a goal.

What is the weekly review?

The weekly review is a built-in Sunday prompt that asks you to reflect on each active goal — what's progressed, what's stuck, and what you're doing next. You write brief notes, and Meridian saves a snapshot of your goal progress at that moment. Past reviews are stored and browsable, so you can see how each goal has developed over time. This feature is available with a Meridian+ subscription.

What Mac and iPhone versions does Meridian require?

Meridian requires macOS 14 Sonoma or later on Mac, and iOS 17 or later on iPhone. These are the minimum versions needed to run SwiftData, the Apple framework Meridian uses for local storage.

When will Meridian be available?

Meridian is targeting a July 2026 launch on the Mac App Store and the App Store. Drop us a note if you'd like to be notified when it's available.
